You have the right to delete your Vertext Digital account at any time, for any reason, without penalty. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once your account is deleted, all associated data is removed from our systems in accordance with this policy.

To delete your account, log in to your dashboard and navigate to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Follow the confirmation steps. Alternatively, you may email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" from your registered email address. We will process the request within 7 business days and send a confirmation once completed.

Upon account deletion, the following data is permanently removed: your profile information (name, email, phone number), all saved API keys, SMS and airtime transaction history, AI email agent configuration and knowledge base, wallet balance records, and any stored webhook or redirect URLs. This data cannot be recovered after deletion is confirmed.

If you have an outstanding wallet balance at the time of deletion, you may request a refund before proceeding. Refunds are processed to the original M-Pesa number used during top-up, subject to a minimum withdrawal threshold of KES 50. Commission balances earned through referrals are eligible for withdrawal before deletion if they meet the minimum threshold. Balances not withdrawn before deletion are forfeited.

Even after account deletion, we are required by law and legitimate business interest to retain certain records. These include: transaction records for financial compliance (retained for 7 years as required by Kenyan financial regulations), abuse and fraud prevention logs (retained for up to 2 years), and anonymised usage analytics that cannot be linked back to you personally. This retained data is not used for marketing or shared with third parties.

Deleting your account immediately invalidates all active API keys associated with your account. Any third-party integrations using your API keys will stop working immediately. If you have shared API keys with external systems, ensure you update or remove them before requesting deletion to avoid service disruption on your end.

If you referred other users to the platform, your referral records are anonymised upon deletion — meaning the referred accounts remain active and functional, but the link to your account is severed. Any unpaid commissions from referrals must be withdrawn before deletion as described in Section 04.
